I love the idea of an animal sanctuary. I like it when I find out about people doing things just because they know it's the right thing to do. That's basically the hardest thing about any of the progressive movements: getting people to do things that they already know are right. If you think about trying to keep the air clean for everyone, you should want to do it, but a lot of people don't, and I don't understand them.
Black Beauty Ranch is a place where animals who have been mistreated go to retire and live a nice life. I like that.
We need more people out there who do the right thing.
I did a reading on Sunday, and usually people go out drinking after a poetry reading. Some people ate at the bar we went to. One lady ordered a steak, and I said, "who ordered a steak?" and she yelled "I GOTTA GET MA STEAK ON!"
The same thing happens when you ask "whose HUMMER is that?" The person will yell something like "I NEED ME SOME POWER!"
People are always yelling about how they don't care. "Everyone has to die" and "we can't really do anything about it" really angers me because there's not much to say back to people who are like that.
I wish there were a list of things to say to people who drive HUMMERS and/or eat big steaks that don't make you sound like a jerk. What's the right thing to say? To just not say anything doesn't accomplish anything. So what to do?
